For your paper due on your Roman monument you may use the following format to help you:


I - Introduction: Explain the topic then provide a thesis that ARGUES why your monument is the best example of the Roman Empire

II - First body paragraph: Where is your monument - why was it constructed?

III. - How is this monument an example of the Roman Empire - be specific

IV. - Is your monument still standing - if so why? if not then why not?

V. - Conclusion - restate your thesis and provide closing states that revolve around the three body paragraphs.

Your homework for Tuesday's class is the following:

  • BRING IN INFORMATION ON YOUR MONUMENT - we will be using time in class to work on the projects

For the project I remind you:
  1. The presentation is a group effort - you all must work together to make this a fantastic project
  2. The individual paper MUST answer the question "How does one monument demonstrate the power of the Roman Empire?" You must answer this question in a thesis statement arguing the significance of the monument.
  3. You may work in a group to answer this question but I want individual papers.
